The World of Outlaws regular Max Blair of Centerville, PA ovecame a rash of restarts to capture a flag-to-flag
victory in Sunday's 50-lap 4th Annual Andy Kania Memorial at Eriez Spedway. Blair beat Logan Zarin to the lin by 1.712 seconds for the $7,676 payday and his fourth consecutive Kania Memorial triumph in unsanctioned super late model competition.
Blair negotiated Eriez surface for his seventh overall win of the season. His first special event triumph. It was his third Eriez victory after a sweep of May 11 super and RUSH crate late model events.
The event honored Andy Kania, a longtime racer and regular at the Eriez Speedway who retired to become crew chief for his son, Steve. Andy died on October 21, 2021 after a brief illness.
