McDonald’s Meats Super Late Models made their second appearance at Raceway 7 Friday night with Robbie Blair winning his 36th Super Late Model feature, tying Dick Barton for the most wins in the division history. Robbie's son Max Blair made a mid-race pass of teammate Chad Wright to capture the Evergreen Lake Park Campground FASTRAK Late Model feature.

Super Late Models had been the premier class at Raceway 7 until 2008 when they became a specials-only division, returning twice in 2012 after an absence since 2010. Brent Rhebergen and Matt Lux led the eighteen alcohol-burning ground-pounders to the green with Rhebergen leading the way but five cars piled up after Dennis Lunger spun in turn three. Ron Davies and Jason Morell retired to the pit during the caution period.

Max Lux took the lead when the green was again shown to start the event with Rhebergen and Russ King following. Robbie Blair, second on the all-time list of feature winners was fourth after one lap. On lap eight King was alongside Rhebergen but Rhebergen held on to the spot. Blair got by King at lap twelve and went by Rhebergen a lap later.

At halfway, Lux had a two car-length lead over Blair. Charlie Supplee spun in turn two on lap sixteen. Lux, winless at Raceway 7 in Super Late Models, led the field back to green with 35-time winner Blair right behind. Lux went wide in turn two on the restart and Blair pounced for the lead with Dave Hess Jr, the winner in June coming to second and Russ King coming to third. Two laps later Lux fell off the pace and retired to the pit.

At lap nineteen, Bump Hedman started spewing smoke and retired pitside. Charlie Supplee again spun at that point for the third caution of the event. King came to second at the restart but Blair was distancing himself from his pursuers. At lap 23 Hess made a rare slip in turn three, sliding up the track and dropping back to sixth.

After a final caution at lap 26 when King had a flat tire, Blair continued to open his lead over the remaining distance, winning by nearly half a straight over Rhebergen, Andy Boozel, Chris Hackett, and Hess. Blair’s 36th win puts him in a tie with Dick Barton for the all-time winningest Super Late Model driver in Raceway 7 history.

Billy Henry and Chad Wright led the 15 Evergreen Lake Park Campground FASTRAK Late Models to Roger Osburn’s green flag but five cars did not make it past turn one. All were able to restart. Chad Wright took the lead at the green with two-time defending champion Max Blair coming to second. Blair took over at the front on lap five, heading for his eighth win of the season and lengthening his point’s lead. Team Blair teammate Chad Wright held on for second with Billy Henry third, 2009 champion Dennis Lunger fourth, and Matt Latta fifth.
