Auto Racers for Kids is an Erie charity benefitting area youth. Every year the group holds a charity racing extravaganza including a Chinese Auction, wood carving demonstration, and other activities plus extra purse money in every class. The evening started with WJET-TV personality Craig Smiley singing our National Anthem and serving as the honorary starter, waving the green to get the evening moving.

Over 9,000 dollars was raised last night for local children's organizations!!! A HUGE thank you to all who donated, and came out in support for Auto Racers For Kids Charities!!!

Robbie Blair got his fifth Eriez Speedway win of the season with his son, the defending champion Max Blair, winning his third feature of the season in the FASTRAK Late Models.

$3000 was the winner’s purse for the Jay’s Auto Wrecking Super Late Model feature. Seventeen cars were in the starting field for the feature with Robbie Blair and Jared Miley starting on the front row. Dave Hess experienced mechanical failure during his heat and was unable to start the main event.

Blair, already a four-time winner his season led Miley with John Volpe third through the early laps. At eight laps compete Andy Boozel got next to Volpe for third but Was unable to complete the pass before Chris Peterson experienced mechanical ails and came to a halt on the front straight.

The ensuing caution erased Blair’s lead but the “Titusville Terror” quickly established himself as the driver to beat. At the stripe it was Blair by five car-lengths over Pittsburgh’s Jared Miley, defending champion Mike Knight, Andy Boozel, and John Volpe.

With $1000 up for the winner, defending champion Max Blair and Scott Gurdak led the twenty Bonnell Collision Center FASTRAK Late Models to the green with third starting Bruce Hordusky diving low in turn two to make it three-wide down the back straight on lap one.

Blair was the leader at the end of the first lap and opened a lead sufficient to start lapping cars by lap nine. At eleven complete Breyton Santee looped his mount in turn two for the race’s first caution. After the restart Hordusky came to second but Gurdak was back by him at the end of thirteen laps.

At this point two time winner and points’ leader Chad Wright was up to fourth, from seventh at the green. Al Brewer spun coming out of turn two at lap eighteen, bringing caution number two over the field. Restarts within five laps or less remaining are single file so it was Blair, Gurdak, Hordusky, Wright, and one-time winner Damien Bidwell bringing the field down for the two-lap dash for the win. In the final run Billy Henry got by Bidwell for fifth but the top four remained the same. It was the third win for Blair, the defending champion.
