Hammett, PA, (June 22, 2014): The Bonnell Collision Center FASTRAK Late Models were the featured class racing for $1200 to win in an unsanctioned event after FASTRAK cancelled the scheduled regional event. Max Blair came from fifth at the start to the lead after trading the lead with Bobby Rohrer over the first eleven laps. It was Blair’s third win of the season. In Super Late Model action the top two spots were reversed from last week as Rob Blair defeated his son Max to capture his 2nd win of the season at the Eriez Speedway.

Joel Prosser and Bobby Rohrer led the Bonnell Collision Center FASTRAK Late Models to the green for their thirty-lap special with Rohrer leading the way. Derek Rogers spun his mount in turn two of lap two for the first caution period of the event.

At green Rohrer again led the way with Matt Latta and Max Blair fighting over second. Blair got by Latta at lap six and began closing the gap on the leader. Caution flew again at lap eight when Khole Wanzer came to a halt in turn four, erasing Rohrer’s four length lead.

One lap after green Blair got under Rohrer and assumed the lead but Rohrer came back to lead lap ten. At lap eleven it was Blair showing the way once again. On the eighteenth circuit defending champion Chad Wright got by Latta for third but the two ran side by side until lap twenty-one when Latta reassumed the spot.

With six remaining Latta ‘jumped the cushion’ with the result being that Wright was again third. When Spanky Hall’s four checkered flags waved it was Blair, Rohrer, Wright, Latta, and Darrell Bossard.

A full field of twenty-four Jay’s Auto Wrecking Super Late Models started their twenty-five lap feature. Ryan Scott and Matt Urban brought the field to life with Urban leading lap one. Several cars got out of shape with Bob Dorman coming to a halt at lap two, forcing caution. Caution again flew at lap three when Jordan Eck spun.

Rob Blair, the defending champion was third for the restart behind Urban and Hess then second at lap four, when caution again flew. With five down the elder Blair was leading with Urban, Hackett, Hess, and Max Blair filling out the top five.

Coming to the stripe at lap seven the younger Blair made a three wide move work and came to third, then was second at lap nine as Robbie Blair was powering away. At halfway Robbie had a half straight lead over his son with Urban third, Hackett fourth and Hess fifth.

With five laps remaining the gap was closing when Rob Blair got to lapped traffic. In traffic with three laps remaining Max was on Rob’s rear bumper but caution flew when Hess and Brian Fardink spun in turn three as the leaders came out of turn four for the checkers.

For the one lap dash Max was right behind Rob but the top two finished in reverse of what they finished last week. It was the defending champion’s second trip to Victory Lane in 2014 with Max Blair second, Urban third, Hackett fourth, and Boom Briggs fifth.
